Classes are held after school and most are one hour long. Your child can sign up for one or two classes each day.
Registration is online through this website. The first round of Registration is a lottery, then First Come First Serve (FCFS). See more info below.

More questions about our program?
ABOUT: Lawrence Special Activities (LSA) is an independent non-profit program, offering after school enrichment classes for Lawrence students. Our goal is to provide a fresh and fun selection of courses every season, with enriching and enjoyable classes to suit the interests of every child.
Any proceeds from LSA go back into the program to directly benefit Lawrence School students.
REGISTRATION: Registration will begin as a lottery process. Once the lottery registration is closed, within a day or two, parents will be notified by email from SchoolTwist if their child was randomly chosen for a class. Payment must be completed by the specified deadline to reserve the spot. If payment is not completed by the deadline, then the spot in the class will go to a student on the waitlist. After the specified deadline for payment has passed, Registration will reopen for the classes that have availability on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you have information about your child that would be helpful for the instructor or LSA staff to know, please reach out. Please be aware that if your child receives additional support from aides in the Lawrence classroom, they are not present during LSA classes as LSA is an independent non-profit program.
Scholarship Tuition: A Scholarship Tuition Request must be made during the Sneak Peek process, Make a Request Here.
To be considered for Tuition Support you must do 2 things:
1) Complete the Google Form (link above) during Sneak Peek.
2) Once Registration opens, register for the class your child/dependent would like to take and request Scholarship Aid. You MUST request Financial Aid in SchoolTwist during the Registration process.
During Registration, to hold your child/dependent’s spot in the class, you can pay for the class in full and apply for Scholarship Aid. If approved for Scholarship Aid, you will be refunded the approved amount which could be full or partial aid. If you do not receive financial aid, and you have not paid for that class during Registration, then your child’s/dependent’s enrollment for the class will automatically be canceled. LSA and Guidance will do their best to determine eligibility before Registration ends.
Tuition support may be available for those who need it. Tuition assistance is based on financial need and requests will be confirmed by the administration for consideration. Class tuition may require some financial participation from the family. Tuition assistance for eligible students is limited to one class per session. Please note that tuition assistance will only be applied to classes that do not have a Wait List. Scholarship Tuition may vary from session to session and is not guaranteed from one session to the next. Any questions please contact the LSA Director at: LSAdirector@lawrenceschoolbrookline.org. Please note that if Scholarship Tuition is approved, it is expected that the student will attend a majority of the classes. If there is a significant absence from the class, the student/family may not be considered for Scholarship Tuition in the future.
DONATIONS: It is possible to make a donation to LSA during the Registration process. If you would like to make a donation at another time, please email the LSA Director. All donations made to LSA go directly to Scholarship Tuition Assistance and allows LSA to support the students and families at Lawrence who may need assistance to take enrichment classes. Thank you for your consideration.
FSA Dependent Care Reimbursement: If you need an invoice as proof of enrollment, please send an email to the LSA Director with your student’s full name, grade, the session, and which classes they took.
ATTENDANCE: LSA takes attendance during classes for internal purposes. LSA may contact parents/guardians/caregivers to make sure they are aware if a child is missing from class. If your child is absent from school and/or will not attend an LSA class it would be helpful if you could inform the LSA Director: LSAdirector@lawrenceschoolbrookline.org.
CLASS TRANSFERS

For the first few weeks of each session, 1st graders will also be brought from their homeroom to their LSA class by an on-site monitor or 8th grade volunteer. Children in other grades are expected to get to and from their LSA classes on their own. Prior to the start of the session, you will be given the classroom/outdoor location for each LSA class in which your child is enrolled, please share this information with your child. Their homeroom teacher will also remind them where to go.
3:50 pm Classes: For indoor classes, please meet the instructor at the front of the Lawrence building (27 Francis St) at 3:45 pm. The instructor will walk your child to the LSA classroom. For outdoor classes, please bring your child to the designated location which will be provided in a LSA email prior to the start of the session. Children in Kindergarten and coming from a 2:40 pm LSA class will be brought to their LSA class by an on-site manager. For the first few weeks of each session, 1st graders will also be brought from their 2:40 pm class to their 3:50 pm class by an on-site monitor. If your child is older and coming from a 2:40 pm LSA class, please tell them which classroom/outdoor location to go to, it will be provided in a LSA email prior to the start of the session.
CHILDREN IN LEDP: Students in LEDP must report to that program before going to a LSA class. Please note during registration if your child is in LEDP on the same day as their LSA class. LEDP will give parents/guardians a consent form authorizing them to release children to LSA classes.
DISMISSAL: Parents/guardians should indicate during registration whether their child will go back to LEDP, be picked up after class by arrangement or walk home/go outside alone. For 2:40 pm classes, dismissal is at 3:40 pm. For 3:50 pm classes, dismissal is at 4:50 pm. For classes that last more than 1 hr, the dismissal time will be provided in a LSA email prior to the start of the session. Please do not be late for pick up. LSA is not responsible for children after dismissal. Note: no parents/guardians/caregivers are allowed in the building before, during or after the LSA class.
Indoor Classes: after class ends, K-2 students will be walked out to the main entrance of the building to be picked up by a parent/guardian/caregiver. If your child is 3rd grade and older, they can leave the class and building on their own.
Outdoor Classes: after class ends, K-2 students will be dismissed to their parent/guardian/caregiver where the class is located. If your child is 3rd grade and older, they can leave the field or tennis court on their own.
BEHAVIOR: LSA seeks to enrich students through extra activities done in a fun and cooperative setting. In order to preserve a productive learning atmosphere for all students, LSA reserves the right to remove any child disrupting a class. When a child misbehaves in class LSA will contact the parents/guardians to discuss the situation. If a child persists in behavior that negatively impacts the group and/or creates an unsafe environment, the child will be withdrawn from the class. No refunds will be given.
REFUNDS: If a class is canceled due to under-enrollment, tuition will be refunded. NO REFUND IS AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS ONCE CLASSES BEGIN. We do not refund tuition for individual missed classes. If you request a refund that is not due to under-enrollment or the request is before the session starts and that request is granted, an Admin Fee/Convenience Fee will be deducted from your refund.
INSURANCE: All children must be covered by health insurance in order to participate in the program.
SCHOOL HOLIDAYS, VACATIONS, SNOW DAYS AND EARLY RELEASE DAYS: Classes will not be held on these days. If an indoor class is canceled due to weather or teacher’s absence we will make every effort to have a make-up class on the same day of the class one week after the last regularly scheduled class. If an outdoor class is canceled due to weather or teacher’s absence we will make every effort to have a make-up class when possible.
DISCLAIMER: By registering for LSA classes, each parent, guardian, spouse and child, and on behalf of all heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, agrees to INDEMNIFY, RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS Lawrence Special Activities and its directors, board members, coordinator, treasurer, instructors, contractors, employees, volunteers, other participants, sponsoring agencies, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the classes (“Releasees”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property incident to their child’s involvement or participation in these programs, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
