What is LSA, you ask?
Lawrence Special Activities (LSA) is a parent-run, not-for-profit program, offering after school enrichment classes for Lawrence students.
LSA classes run seasonally – there are 3 sessions of classes during each school year (Fall, Winter and Spring), with some weeks of down-time in between each session.
During each session, classes are held after school and most classes are one hour long, so your child can sign up for one or two classes each day.
Registration is online, on this website. The PTO will send a reminder email when the enrollment period begins in September.

ABOUT: Lawrence Special Activities (LSA) is a parent-run, not-for-profit program, offering after school enrichment classes for Lawrence students. Our goal is to provide a fresh and fun selection of courses every season, with enriching and enjoyable classes to suit the interests of every child.
Any proceeds from our program help fund the PTO and directly benefit Lawrence School students.
REGISTRATION: Registration is online at https://lawrence.schooltwist.org. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Look for information in the weekly PTO email about upcoming dates for LSA sessions.
Please use common sense when selecting classes. You know your child best. If your child does not listen well and likes to run away or hide, please think carefully before registering them for a class that goes outside or off campus. If you have information about your child it would be helpful for the instructor or LSA staff to know, share it! Please be aware that if your child receives additional support from aides in the classroom, they are not present during LSA classes.
FINANCIAL AID / SCHOLARSHIPS: Financial support is available for those who need it. Please indicate this in your registration or contact LSA Director at: NewYorkJC@gmail.com
DISMISSAL: Please – PICK UP YOUR CHILD PROMPTLY! LSA is not responsible for children before or after class. Parents should indicate during registration whether their child will go back to LEDP, be picked up after class by arrangement or walk home /go outside alone. After class, children will be met at the classroom by parents/responsible person unless he or she is in LEDP that day, or unless the parent has indicated the child can leave alone.
ATTENDANCE: LSA takes attendance during classes for internal purposes. LSA may contact parents to make sure they are aware if a child is missing from class.
Children are expected to get to and from their LSA classes by themselves or with a parent, by their own arrangement, EXCEPT for KINDERGARTENERS. Kindergarten teachers will not release students without an appropriate escort, and parents must make arrangements for this themselves.
CHILDREN IN LEDP: Children in LEDP must report to that program before going to an LSA class. Please note during registration if your child is in LEDP on the same day as their LSA class. LEDP will give parents a consent form authorizing them to release children to LSA classes.
BEHAVIOR: LSA seeks to enrich our children through extra activities done in a fun and cooperative setting. In order to preserve a productive learning atmosphere for all students, LSA reserves the right to remove any child disrupting a class. When a child misbehaves in class we will contact the parent / guardian. If a child persists in behavior that negatively impacts the group, he or she will be withdrawn from the class. No refunds will be given.
REFUNDS: If a class is cancelled due to under-enrollment, tuition will be refunded. NO REFUND IS AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS ONCE CLASSES BEGIN. We do not refund tuition for individual missed classes.
INSURANCE: All children must be covered by health insurance in order to participate in the program.
SCHOOL HOLIDAYS, VACATIONS, SNOW DAYS AND EARLY RELEASE DAYS: Classes will not be held on these days. If a class is canceled due to weather or teacher’s absence we will make every effort to have a make-up class on the same day of the class, one week after the last regularly scheduled class.
DISCLAIMER: By registering for LSA classes, each parent, guardian, spouse and child, and on behalf of all heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, agrees to IMDEMNIFY, RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS Lawrence Special Activities and the PTO of Lawrence school, its directors, board members, coordinator, treasurer, instructors, contractors, employees, volunteers, other participants, sponsoring agencies, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the classes (“Releasees”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property incident to their child’s involvement or participation in these programs, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
